Historical Perspective:
The public health community within the United States is poised for a quality improvement explosion. ASQ has worked occasionally with the Public Health Foundation to support individual QI workshops in basic quality tools since 2004. Ray Zielke, ASQ Healthcare Quality Manager, and Grace Duffy are in partnership with Ron Bialek, President of the Public Health Foundation (PHF), and Jack Moran, Senior Quality Advisor to PHF, to introduce a broad curriculum of basic and advanced quality learning offerings to the approximately 3000 public health organizations around the country. Jack Moran and Grace Duffy will provide initial Community of Practice leadership under the guidance of in-place QMD Chair/Vice-Chair structure.
