In it he focuses on the leadership role of upper management in planning for quality. The textbook style, including high points of chapters and a glossary, is designed for in-house training and Juran Institute seminars for upper management. Despite the change in emphasis to leadership, much of the content is repetitive. Extensive business collections will want both books, but smaller libraries can probably satisfy demand with one. Since, in the author's words, "the return on investment in quality improvement is among the highest available to managers," this is the one to buy.
